Central Agosto es un mes para conmemorar un avance importante en temas de salud ambiental debido a la implementación de la ley que prohíbe el plástico de un sólo uso en el comercio (Ley 21.100 ), la que se ha ido implementando en distintas fases desde 2021, y que previamente, en 2018, ya había prohibido prohibido el uso de bolsas plásticas.
