LOS ESCRIBAS DEL ANTIGUO EGIPTO CORRÍAN RIESGOS DE SALUD SIMILARES A LOS OFICINISTAS os escribas del antiguo Egipto afrontaban pro¡ blemas de salud similaresa los que arriesgan hoy los trabajadores de oficina, como tensiones cervicales o artrosis en manos y muñecas, concluye una investigación de un equipo de científicos checos.
Los resultados del estudio efectuado por expertos en Egiptología, Antropología y Genética Humana de la Universidad Carolina y del Museo Nacional de Praga han sido publicados en la revista especializada Nature Scientific Reports, informó Radio Praga Internacional.
Al examinar los restos óseos de 69 individuos enterrados en la necrópolis egipcia de Abusir entre los años 2700 a.C. y 2180 a.C., los científicos descubrieron que 30 de ellos, que estaban marcados como escribas en sus tumbas, mostraban cambios degenerativos específicos en sus huesos. Sobre todo ciertas deformaciones de la columna vertebral y las articulaciones eran mucho más frecuentes en los escribas que en otros hombres delantiguo Egipto. La antropóloga Petra Brukner Havelkovám, una de las autoras del estudio, resalta lasimilitud delos riesgos laborales para la salud de los antiguos escribas y los actuales oficinistas.
Aunque el trabajo de escribir no era especialmente exigente desde el punto de vista físico, el hecho de que fuera repetitivo, duradero y amenudosellevara a cabo en una posición antinatural, dejó una huella distintiva en sus cuerpos, explica la científica a Radio Praga. "En la actualidad, los médicos, ortopedistas o terapeutas ocupacionales estudian la mayoría de las profesiones en busca desus factores deriesgo laboral.

Al igual que los empleados de oficinas contemporáneos, los antiguos escribas también sufrían por estar demasiado tiempo sentados.
