En Castro se realizará taller gratuito sobre drenaje urbano sostenible
Para enfrentar estos desafíos, un concepto que emerge con fuerza es el de las “Ciudades Esponjas”. Este modelo promueve los sistemas de drenaje urbano sostenible basados predominantemente en infraestructura verde y azul como una solución natural y eficiente para gestionar las aguas lluvias y, de esta forma, mitigar las inundaciones y aumentar la recarga de napas subterráneas.
En esta línea, en el año 2021 se publicó Ciudades Sensibles al Agua: Guía de Drenaje Urbano Sostenible (DUS) para la Macrozona Sur de Chile, fruto del trabajo colaborativo entre Patagua, Fundación Legado Chile y la UniversidadLagos y Corfo.
“La guía entrega herramientas concretas para avanzar hacia la gestión sostenible de las aguas urbanas”, señalaCamila Teutsch, directora ejecutiva de Patagua, empresa B especializada en la gestión sostenibledel agua; “esto, que hace unos años era una oportunidad, hoy se está transformando en urgencia”. Durante el mes de agosto, todo este conocimiento será promovido a través de “GiraDUS: ruta hacia ciudades sensibles al agua en el sur de Chile”, iniciativa liderada por Patagua y financiada por el programa Ciencia Pública del Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología, Conocimiento e Innovación, la cual busca facilitar el aprendizajey la apropiación de estos conceptos y técnicas mediante talleres gratuitos y presenciales en cinco ciudades del país: Concepción, Villarrica, Valdivia, Puerto Montt y Castro. Esta instancia formativa está destinada a profesionales involucrados en la gestión de aguasurbanas, provenientes tanto de organizaciones públicas como privadas. En Castro el taller se realizará el 20 de agosto en Universidad Los Lagos sede Chiloé, organización aliada del proyecto. “LaUniversidad de Los Lagos está comprometida en promover y fortalecer iniciativas que fomenten la sustentabilidad y mejoren la calidad de vida en nuestra región. Buscamos fomentar el debate y la toma de decisiones sobre la sustentabilidad del desarrollo humano, involucrando a instituciones públicas, organizaciones sociales y empresas privadas. Es por esto que nos articulamos para promover una cultura ambientalmente responsable que beneficie el desarrollo y la calidad de vida de todos”, explicóEvelyn Hiller Garrido, Académica y Coordinadora del Programa Ulagos Sustentable en Chiloé.
